TRAIN services in the city were disrupted this evevning following heavy rain over many parts of the Klang Valley.

Signalling problems at the Muzium and Bukit Bintang MRT stations necessitating repairs around 6pm, caused the train to be delayed and tempers to fray.

MyRapidKL said on Twitter that the “Trains are moving slower and dwelling longer” at the stations because the “Trains between Muzium and Bukit Bintang need to be driven in manual mode while technicians rectify the signalling fault.

Commuters were informed the train service was back in order about 30 minutes later by the operator, who posed on Twitter that the glitches had been repaired.

The monorail service was next to break down around 7.30pm.

RapidKL said on social media that the service was interrupted because a train was stalled.

Commuters were told that until the problem was fixed, two shuttle trains were available to take them from KL Sentral to Bukit Bintang and Bukit Bintang to Titiwangsa,

RapidKL also offered assistance and refunds at the customer service counter.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department confirmed the incident and that no one was hurt. – January 17, 2019.
