REALISING the full extent of Sabah’s rights under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 will take time, said Chief Minister Mohd Shafie Apdal, today.
He said this will depend on how the state and federal governments resolve the technical and legal issues surrounding the deal.
Sabah’s wish list include the 20% oil royalty and more autonomy in education and health, he said.
“I believe this will take time and involve technical and legal issues, which also require working coordination between Sabah and Putrajaya.
“Towards this end, Sabahans must stand united and work with each other regardless of their political, religous and ethnic differences so that the government can bring change and implement the MA63, “ he said in a statement during installation and oath taking of the Head of State ceremony in Kota Kinabalu, today.
Juhar Mahiruddin was installed as the 10th Tuan Yang Di-Pertua Sabah for a third term following the state government’s move to remove the two-term limit for governors. – January 1, 2019.
