MALAYS should no longer be seen as a “subsidised” group and must work hard to achieve success on their own, said Bersatu Women chief Rina Harun.
She said Prime Minister and Bersatu chairman Dr Mahathir Mohamad has repeatedly called on Malays to develop the country and boost the community’s position without expecting constant help from the government.
“It is our desire for Malays to no longer be left behind or expect help to succeed.”
She said in this day and age, everyone must strive hard to attain success, and for this, a change in mindset is key.
“Only with a change in mindset and attitude, and boosting one’s knowledge and skills, can the economic gap between the races be closed.
“Malays must be more competitive and proactive in their thinking and action, so as to realise their role as economic movers.”
Rina said the Bumiputera agenda has long been emphasised on because it is important to the country’s prosperity and stability.
“Therefore, Bersatu plays a role in developing Malays, so that their role in the country is preserved.” – December 30, 2018.
