PORT Dickson’s infrastructure development will be reviewed in January, said Anwar Ibrahim.
He said the local authorities should not approve new developments without taking note of infrastructure requirements, the needs of the area, and the promotion of Port Dickson as a major destination.
“I told them about a month ago to hold any major approvals as we do not want to disrupt the structural plan.
“There cannot be big structural changes without structural plans for Port Dickson,” he said at the Port Dickson coastal cleanup day today.
Anwar said Port Dickson faced weekly flooding, necessitating reviews of structural plans in the meetings.
The meetings will held by Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun and attended by the relevant companies investing in the beachside town to resolve its infrastructure issues.
With plans for five-star hotels, a traders’ centre, and a food complex, the Port Dickson MP called on investors to be realistic in addressing the locals’ needs.
“I don’t have a problem if they want to build corporate venues, but they also have the responsibility to keep the beaches clean.

“The lower-income housing issue should be addressed, and job opportunities should be provided. If big complexes are built, they have to be made in with cleanliness in mind,” he said. – December 29, 2018.
