DAP will not prioritise rural development if the opposition gets to rule Malaysia, Prime Minister Najib Razak told village leaders today.
Speaking at the Convention for Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) and Federal Village Development and Security Committee (JKKKP), Najib said although representatives from DAP were not featured in Pakatan Harapan’s top line-up, the party was still the dominant party in opposition coalition.
“Our government is always concerned about rural communities. We should not fall for their incitement.
He said village chiefs and committees have a different role today and they needed to prepare themselves in facing a new medium of battle – social media.
The people must also distinguish facts from opinions, urging them to verify news and information that came from social media.
“Tell the village folk that they cannot easily accept whatever that comes from social media. There are many lies and opinions on social media.
“And some opinions are not necessarily true,” he said, adding that he is a frequent victim of attacks by the opposition.
“
Earlier, Coalition of Village Chiefs Association president Shahaimi Othman said they would defend Najib and the government from slanders and allegations hurled by former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and other opposition leaders.
“We will not let this matter continue and we will fight against these provocations and slanders.
“We will attack (the opposition). Because slanders are the country’s number one enemy,” he said. – August 22, 2017.

DAP is merely a component party within Pakatan, so your accusation should be directed against Pakatan.
Anyway, for your information, I come from a rural area in Selangor and since Pakatan took over my kampung has seen some very good developments.
There is more work to be done for sure, but when UMNO/BN was running Selangor, my kampung saw ZERO development for over 40 years despite the fact that we vote UMNO/BN faithfully every PRU.
We kicked out UMNO/BN in PRU13 and, my oh my, my kampung has flourished.
Just so you know.
