Sabah Umno meets to discuss future

NINE Sabah assemblymen and two members of parliament have met at a hotel in Kota Kinabalu to discuss the future of Sabah Umno. 

Fifteen of 25 state division heads, including Umno Supreme Council members Pandikar Amin Mulia and Salleh Said Keruak. were also present at the meeting at Hilton Kota Kinabalu. 

The meeting is chaired by state liaison chief and Sulaman assemblymen Hajiji Mohd Noor, who is expected to hear the division heads’ plans to leave the party.

The eight other assemblymen present were Masidi Manjun (Karanaan), Rahim ismail (Pantai Manis), Japlin Akim (Usukan), Mohd Ariffin Mohd Arif (Membakut), Jamli (Tampasuk), Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan (Apas), Isnin Aliasnih (Klias) and Jusli Ajirul (Gum-Gum). 

Kudat MP Rahim Bakri and Beluran MP Ronald Kiandee are also in attendance, while Libaran MP  Zakaria Edris and Beaufort  MP Azizah Mohd Dun are sitting in parliament.

The 15 division heads, meanwhile, are from Sandakan, Keningau, Kota Kinabalu, Semporna, Papar, Silam, Kudat, Sepanggar, Kota Belud, Kimanis, Putatan, Tuaran, Tawau, Beluran and Sipitang. 

Requests for comment from those at the meeting were put off with the statement that Hajiji would make an official announcement at noon tomorrow. 

It is understood Hajiji will chair the division head meetings and thereafter talk to Wanita Sabah Umno. 

It is learnt state Youth division is against leaving Umno. – December 9, 2018.
