BERSATU knows better than to listen to provocateurs who wants them to set up shop in Sabah, said Parti Warisan Sabah number two Darell Leiking.
He said Bersatu, led by Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, made it clear that it will expand to Sarawak, but not Sabah last June.
Warisan, led by Shafie Apdal, is a party friendly to Pakatan Harapan.
“I believe Tun (Dr Mahathir) knows he have much better things to do, than to listen to these agent provocateurs,” he told The Malaysian Insight, today.
Bersatu set up shop in Sarawak two days ago has triggered talks that the party would also do the same in Sabah.
This goes against what Dr Mahathir and deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin have said last June 25 during Bersatu’s supreme council meeting in Petaling Jaya.
On the Warisan campaign trail ahead of the May 9 polls, Shafie had continuously said that Bersatu will stay in Peninsular Malaysia and will not enter Sabah, because Warisan is an ally.
Previously, there have been talks by several Sabah politicians that they want to sponsor Bersatu to open up an office in Sabah, and that Parti Harapan Rakyat Sabah president Lajim Ukin has been rumoured wanting to open Bersatu in Sabah.
But neither rumours have yet to prove themselves true. – December 4, 2018.
