DAP calls for apology from Malay rights groups over racism claim

DAP has demanded an apology from a group of Malay-Muslim civil society bodies – Gagasan Kuasa 3 (G3) – over its allegations that the party was racist and wanted to stamp out Malay rights.

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said should no apology be forthcoming, legal action would be pursued.

“I ask them to show proof (of the allegations) and retract it or apologise. If not, I will take legal action,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby today.

G3, which comprises 53 Malay rights groups, had said that DAP wanted to destroy Malays by ratifying the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD).

Lim said the party would also lodge a police report as the allegations were defamatory.

Lim said the allegations were aimed at vilifying DAP in a bid to recruit more people for the December 8 rally to protest against ICERD in Kuala Lumpur.

“They are doing this to flame and incite (anger) so that more will come to the rally. This will be dangerous if it’s not a peaceful rally,” he said.

The finance minister added the issue was a distraction from real economic problems facing the country.

“I feel this is dangerous (at a time) when we are facing a monetary and fiscal crisis… there are those who are trying to distract (from) it with racial issues and hatred among Malaysians,” Lim said.

G3 is led by Raggie Jessy, or Ragvinder Singh Jess, the author of The Third Force blog.

Raggie had previously said that DAP was racist and out to destroy the country. – November 22, 2018.

Soon they will realise that all those thugs and racist bigots do not appreciate what is being gentleman in approach. They only fear what is thrown fully on them by the rule of law. Just like jamil jamban and ali tinju, who are empty vessel. No even a whimper. LGE should not tolerate this TNS.

  • The problem with threatening to sue is just that / a threat. And the problem with DAP is they always settle with the pariahs. If DAP is serious, go sue all the way and dont ever settle for meek applogy. For they keep coming back because they know they can bully DAP kacang putih
