CONTINUOUS infighting in PKR will only affect party president Anwar Ibrahim’s chances of being the next prime minister, warned outgoing vice-president Rafizi Ramli today.

He said it would reflect badly on Anwar’s leadership if the problems within PKR persist, with people questioning his ability to keep his party stable, let alone the nation.

“Anwar will be attacked if this internal fight continues past this congress. Voices will say it is Anwar’s failure to keep the party together,” Rafizi said during his speech at the PKR congress today.

The former Pandan MP said there were people from outside who would take advantage of the situation to malign Anwar as the future prime minister.

“If there are any grouses, take it up within the party’s mechanisms. If there are any divisions, it will make it easier for people to divide the party,” Rafizi said.

He also said there were leaders within the party’s top leadership who did not support Anwar to be the next leader.

“I have seen on WhatsApp and Facebook chats, even among the top leadership, that they do not believe in Anwar as prime minister. There have been those who say Anwar’s time is over and so on.

“I ask them to stop. Stop all of this. Anwar is president. He will be prime minister. Our duty is to help him fulfil the duty,” said Rafizi.

“We may have differing views, but we cannot have differing ambitions in who will be the prime minister,” he added.

The PKR elections, which lasted for six weeks, was a battle between two camps, one led by incumbent deputy president Azmin Ali and and the other by Rafizi.

Rafizi conceded defeat yesterday to Azmin and said the party should be united for Anwar’s sake.

In his speech, Rafizi also urged party leaders who were ministers to speak out for the people’s plight and to fight for them.

A Pakatan Harapan consensus agreed Anwar will become prime minister after Dr Mahathir Mohamad. – November 18, 2018.

  • Who are you Rafizi to say so that Anwar will be the PM. If you claimed as having read most of the media and bloggers you are absolutely right ANWAR will not be endorsed by Rakyat to be the next PM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..................... unless he is humble and start showing his competency and no more the absurd antics and idiotic chracteristic then maybe, I would say maybe we shall consider him only to file a registration submitting his application to be accepted as one of the nominees to be PM. Stop playing your imposing role as a decider for Anwar journey to be PM. Your bet on a lame horse............... is very very telling. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,????????????????
