THE Pakatan Harapan government must never take the people for granted as they are no longer afraid of changing the government, said outgoing Youth chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad.
Voters would not forgive PH if it fails to keep its promise to “save Malaysia” after toppling Barisan Nasional from six decades of rule, he told the party’s 13th Youth congress in Shah Alam today.
“Malaysians no longer fear voting in a different government. The people’s voice is sacred.
“We must value the trust they place in us not just when we form a new government, but for the days ahead as we serve the country,” he said.
Nik Nazmi, who is contesting for a seat on PKR’s central leadership council, said PH would leave nothing out in its administration of the country.
“This requires patience, especially when the progress we hope for does not match our expectations.”
He said patience was also required because the new government was working hard to correct the mismanagement by the previous administration.
“Things cannot be done overnight. But we have to start. People will not forgive is if we squander this chance to save Malaysia,” he said in his final address to PKR Youth. – November 16, 2018.
