SABAH will build a circuit for drag racing under the proposed development of Auto City at the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park.

Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Wilfred Madius Tangau said construction of the racing circuit was estimated to cost about RM153 million, and will include specialised workshops, auto exhibition area and garages.

Tangau said a racing circuit in Sabah would provide opportunities for small and medium enterprises to dive into the auto business.

“They will be able to provide services and sell automotive products, including spare parts for cars,” he said in his winding-up speech at the State Legislative Assembly yesterday.

On another note, Tangau said the construction of a Aerospace Technician Training Centre at the industrial park would commence soon.

“The new centre can train up to 250 trainees each year and the training is done by experts from international technological partners,” he said. – November 15, 2018.
