THE attorney-general must have a strong case to bring Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor to court for alleged misappropriation of funds and abuse of power, said Khalid Abdul Samad.

The Federal Territories minister said it is certain that the authorities have credible evidence against the former Umno secretary-general.

“The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission must have credible evidence to (take action), and they have submitted their findings to the Attorney-General’s Chambers.

“The A-G has checked, and asked them to press charges,” he said after attending the launch of The Lost Food Project (TLFP) programme at the Kerinchi People’s Housing Project (PPR) today.

Former Federal Territories minister Tengku Adnan, better known as Ku Nan, was arrested at the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya this afternoon.

He is being held overnight and will be charged in court tomorrow.

Last month, Tengku Adnan said MACC had called him up 12 times to provide information on allegedly dubious Kuala Lumpur City Hall land transactions made under the previous Barisan Nasional administration.

At the event today, more than 600 Kerinchi PPR residents received food from TLFP, a registered welfare association in Kuala Lumpur founded in 2015.
