A “TECHNICAL glitch” has forced the election result for Julau in the PKR party election to be put in hold.

Mohd Azahari Daud, the head of election monitors at the William Mawan stadium at the Julau sports complex, announced to reporters at 5.30pm that since the voting had been conducted offline, the system had to be “synced” again for the Julau voting to be tabulated.

Azahari said he would not know how long the process would take as these are done by the IT experts and those from the central election committee.

He said the announcement would be made by the central election committee.

The turnout for this division, which has over 13,000 members, including 12,000 disputed new members, was not as expected.

Azahari did not want to give figures but estimates put it between 1,500 to 2,000.

The overwhelming majority seems to be for Julau MP Larry Sng, who is contesting to take over the chairmanship of the Julau division.

Sng is a staunch supporter of deputy president hopeful Rafizi Ramli. – November 10, 2018.
