THE Federal Territories Ministry has cleared 102 projects out 176 reviewed over dubious transactions during the previous government administration.

Its minister, Khalid Abdul Samad, said the developments had received their development orders but were told to stop as they clashed with the KL 2020 plan.

“We had to go through them again as they clashed with the plan,” he said at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall building today.

He said the remaining 74 projects were still being reviewed. Among the criteria being looked into are the plot ratio, height of the building and density of the surrounding area.

“We also have to look into the developers approved by the previous government.

“Maybe they were promised they could build 70-storey buildings, so we have to consider them as well,” added Khalid.

Khalid said the ministry had identified several projects unsuitable for development, among them those in Bukit Nanas, Taman Wahyu and Bandar Tun Razak.

In September, the ministry had said it would review more than 100 projects put on hold by the council since May due to imprecise documentation.

Khalid had previously said the projects were suspended as some included dealings that contradicted with policies of the new Pakatan Harapan government. – November 7, 2018.
