Bobbey Suan had submited his resignation in July. – November 5, 2018.

UNITED Pasok Momogun KadazanDusun Murut Organisation (Upko) today announced it has accepted the resignation of its Nabawan assemblyman Bobbey Suan.

Suan filed his resignation papers to Upko last July, refusing to follow the party in abandoning Barisan Nasional after the May 9 polls.

The party had won five state seats and one federal seat.

Upko president Wilfred Madius Tangau announced the party would align itself with Parti Warisan Sabah, a Pakatan Harapan ally, on May 10, hours after the final results of the Sabah polls was announced.

The switch from BN allowed Warisan-PH to form the Sabah government.

The other four Upko state assemblymen are Abidin Madingkir (Panginatan), Ewon Benedick (Kadamaian), Limus Jury (Kuala Penyu) and Masiung Banah (Kuamut).

Tangau today said he accepted Suan’s resignation after four months of trying to persuade him to stay in the party.

“He had kept with his decision to leave the party, therefore, the party supreme council respects his decision and accepts his resignation,” he said.

Suan did not indicate his future plans, but had been seen at several BN functions.

Suan is now an independent elected representative in Sabah, along with former Umno men Anifah Aman, who is Kimanis MP; and Saddi Abdul Rahman, who is Sukau assemblyman. – November 5, 2018.
