Umno, BN my flesh and blood, says Najib

FORMER prime minister Najib Razak has no plans to start a new party and will remain with Umno and Barisan Nasional.

He said the coalition, which has led the country since independence, only lost power in the 14th general election because of Pakatan Harapan’s lies and slander.

“My flesh and blood are Umno and BN. I have no intention of starting a new party.

“We lost because of slander and false promises. If it had been an open field, I am confident we could have won,” Najib, who is also Pekan MP, told about 2,000 people at the Sembang Santi Najib (Relaxing Chat with Najib) tea session at the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur this afternoon.

With him were his wife, Rosmah Mansor, and Umno figures such as Lokman Noor Adam and Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz.

Najib, who is facing 38 charges for criminal breach of trust, abuse of power and money laundering, said he still had a lot of support, based on comments on his Facebook page, where he regularly posts criticism of the PH government.

Najib has also appeared more vocal in criticising the new government than even Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said many voters had regretted voting for PH in the May election.

“I read the comments on my Facebook. Some have said sorry for voting PH and, now that they know the truth, they regret having done so.”

On rumours that more Umno leaders wanted to leave the party, Najib said that, if that were true, it would be because they were too weak to withstand the pressure from the PH government.

“I don’t know what I would say to such leaders who are not loyal to Umno. Goodbye to you.

“We should continue our struggle with those who are loyal to Umno. Where is the love and loyalty for friends?”

Speculation had been rife that about 40 Umno MPs were set to leave the party, following five who had left to become independents, including prominent former leaders and ex-ministers Anifah Aman and Mustapa Mohamed. – November 3, 2018.

  • Najib's declaration of undying love for UMNO fails to reflect the reality that his flesh has now turned septic and his blood toxic because he sucked up money from 1MDB which he treated as personal property even though it belongs to the nation. This failure to differentiate between what is his and that which doesn't belong to him is the cause of his downfall. He lost his moral compass and that caused him to exhibit delusional behaviour.
