PAKATAN Harapan is confident of wresting Johor from Barisan Nasional in the 14th general election, following the strong support in the state, Muhiyiddin Yassin said.

The Bersatu president said Johor Menteri Besar Khaled Nordin is feeling the heat and has been hurling unfounded accusations to protect his post.

“From the statements he has made, saying that there’s no need to worry, Khaled is quite nervous because there are many signs that voters in Pagoh and Johor know the real situation in the state… that Umno has reached its end,” he said after attending a meeting at the Bersatu office in Petaling Jaya.

Muhiyiddin was commenting on Khaled’s call to Umno members in Pagoh to work hard to win the parliamentary seat.

He also dismissed claims by Khaled that Johor will become like Penang where the Malays are sidelined.

“Khaled said that he didn’t want Johor to become like Penang, which he claims has issues with the Malays

“This is an Umno leader who feels threatened as we all know that Johor has much bigger problems.”

Muhiyiddin also guaranteed that Johor under the leadership of PH will be a better state government compared with BN as how Penang and Selangor are governed together with DAP, PKR, Bersatu and Amanah.

“We can see that the support for PH has been increasing and we believe that one of the states we can win in the next election is Johor,” he said adding that PH will continue to strive to take Johor.

Malaysiakini reported Khaled as saying Pagoh Umno must now move on as Muhyiddin left the party a year ago and is now Bersatu president. – August 14, 2017.
