SABAH wants Putrajaya to include all the state’s top priority projects in Budget 2019, despite its financial setbacks.

Chief Minister Shafie Apdal said the top priorities cover education, security, health and infrastructure.

“We are mindful of the financial problems faced by Putrajaya, but I do hope some of the projects will be taken into consideration.

“But we will only know all of this tomorrow and that is why I am heading to Kuala Lumpur to attend the budget sitting,” he told reporters in Kota Kinabalu today.

The parliamentary budget sitting is due tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Shafie has taken a different view from Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg’s stand on equal membership in the tripartite Malaysia Agreement 1963 committee.

He said it will suffice if Putrajaya return what it has agreed upon in the deal.

“Politically, Sarawak is different now as the state is represented by the Gabungan Parti Sarawak.

“I do hope the things they had promised to deliver will be implemented,” he said.

Abang Johari has demanded that Sabah, Sarawak and Malaya each have an equal share in the MA63 committee to ensure the proper return of state rights to the East Malaysia. – November 1, 2018.
