PKR deputy presidential hopeful Rafizi Ramli remains confident of a strong win in Sabah and Sarawak despite trailing behind incumbent Mohamad Azmin Ali by almost 1,500 votes in the ongoing party elections.

With voting in the peninsula finally completed, both men and their teams are now set on campaigning in the Borneo states.

“Azmin is leading by 1,000 votes. But for them to (lead) comfortably, they needed 3,000-4,000 vote majority from the peninsula,” Rafizi told supporters last night.

“This gives us a good start, as we start campaigning in Sabah and Sarawak. I think we have an advantage there, I think in Sabah and Sarawak, we can score a 5,000-vote majority,” he said.

Despite winning the PKR Pandan branch top post yesterday, Rafizi trailed behind Azmin in the deputy presidential vote in his Pandan stronghold, securing 508 votes to Azmin’s 715.

Rafizi accused Azmin of transferring more than 1,000 votes from Ampang to Pandan.

“He transferred more than 1,000 votes from Pandan. Haniza Talha is not from here, Nor Hayati Haron (Pandan branch chief) is an Ampang council member.

“It’s allowed in the system of the party. So, I accept it,” he told reporters.

Following yesterday’s polling, Azmin’s vote count stands at 49,969 while Rafizi has 48,558.

The PKR elections kicked off on September 23. Voting in Sabah takes place this weekend while polling in Sarawak is on November 10. – October 29, 2018.

  • Malaysia is not just make up of Azmin and Rafizi. Enugh of news on these two idiots. e have better task to take care off. Anwar is a bane to Malaysia and his stirring up of this shits is going to be costly for PKR. He should have quietly dispose off his internal PKR problems as a Party leader. If such a trivial election are now creating a diversion and derail Malaysian on going forward for abetter and greater good, sadly to say Anwar is really incompetetnt and not fit to a PM in waiting.
