RAFIZI Ramli today brushed off challenges from three others to become the new Pandan PKR chief. He won the race with 566 votes.

His closest rival was Haniza Mohd Talha, who got 405 votes, followed by Nor Hayati Haron (353) and Mohamad Shauki Mohd Hashim (71).

The position was previously held by Muhammad Ishak Zainuddin, who is not contesting this year’s party polls.

A total of 7,071 members were eligible to vote but only 1,883 voted today.

Rafizi is also running for the deputy president’s post, where he is putting up a tough fight against incumbent Azmin Ali.

However, despite Rafizi winning the Pandan chief post, the division’s members voted for Azmin for the deputy president’s post.

Rafizi had said that questionable tactics were involved in the voting pattern in the division. – October 28, 2018.
