THE body of the Bangladeshi man, Md Jalil that was just pulled out from the Paya Terubong landslide in Penang was badly damaged.
His head was detached and when found, only the skull was left, northeast district police chief assistant commissioner Che Zamani Che Awang said.
“We believe the head was crushed by a rock, causing it to be in such a condition. We found part of his body but his right leg and left arm are still missing.
“The deceased’s identity was confirmed by his friends who recognised his unique small toe as the two toes are stuck together,” he told reporters.
Jalil’s body was found at 4.50pm, buried 10m deep in the rubble. He is the seventh body recovered from the site.

Che Zamani also said the first injured victim rescued on Friday, Indonesian Shaminhas been warded in the Penang Hospital’s intensive care unit due to internal injuries.
The man was earlier reported to have suffered a broken leg but his condition has now worsened.
“We also got a report this morning that another Indonesian man was injured in the landslide and suffered fractures. He was not on our list,” he said.
Che Zamani also said the search for another three missing victims on the authorities’ list will continue into the night.
“The area we are searching is safe for work to continue. We will only stop if it rains.”
The landslide happened on Friday at a road construction site on Jalan Paya Terubong. The project to build the Paya Terubong pair road is being handled by the Penang Island City Council (MBPP). – October 21, 2018.
