AUTHORITIES have recovered another victim from the landslide site in Paya Terubong, Penang.
State welfare, caring community and environment exco Phee Boon Poh said in a WhatsApp message that the fourth body was found at 11.53am.
Rescuers found two bodies of a Bangladeshi and Indonesian yesterday afternoon. Earlier this morning, the body of a Myanmar woman was recovered.
Fire and Rescue Department personnel were still looking for two more missing victims.
In a press conference this morning, the Putrajaya Fire and Rescue Department’s rescue operations branch chief Morni Mamat said the focus now was body recovery.
“If we find any alive, it would be a miracle,” he said.
Apart from the four dead, three others had escaped with injuries in the landslide that occurred before Friday prayers yesterday at the Paya Terubong pair road construction site on Jalan Paya Terubong.
The landslide brought down several containers on a hill slope, killing workers who were likely inside. – October 20, 2018.
