PUTRAJAYA will be focussing on six states which are presently lagging behind in terms of development, said Economic Affairs Minister Mohamed Azmin Ali today.
The six states are Kelantan, Terengganu, Sabah, Sarawak, Kedah and Perlis.
He added that there was a huge income disparity between these six states and the rest of the nation.
He added that the cabinet will be looking into this matter in the mid-term review of the 10th Malaysian Plan which will tabled in Parliament on October 18.
Azmin also lashed out at the previous Barisan Nasional administration for overspending on unnecessary things.
“When they had a new initiative, a new department will be opened. Funding will be allocated for renovation of the office and buying expensive vehicles,” he said.
Presently, Kedah and Sabah are in the hands of Pakatan Harapan, Perlis is controlled by Barisan Nasional, while Kelantan and Terengganu are ruled by PAS. Sarawak, meanwhile, is held by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), an alliance of former BN parties. – October 12, 2018.
