Dragon boat racing is usually associated with the Dragon boat festival or Bak Chang festival.
However, this sport is extremely competitive. Rowers train for six months or more to compete in international and local regattas.
KL based dragon boat team, Argo Naga recently had an open day to encourage more people to participate in this sport.
Participants who came for the open day took part in a water confidence test and were also given a crash course in the basics of dragon boat racing.
Dragon boat racing might not be as popular as conventional sporting events such as football or badminton, but it has more than 50 million rowers worldwide. - June 24, 2018.
