OPERASI mencari dan menyelamat (SAR) pelancong dari India yang hilang selepas terjatuh lubang jerlus di Jalan Masjid India, Kuala Lumpur masuk hari kelima hari ini.

Mangsa, Vijayaletchumy, 48, dari Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh terjatuh ke lubang sedalam 8 meter pada pagi Jumaat lalu.

Pasukan SAR dijangka meneruskan mesin jetter untuk memecahkan sisa batuan di depan lurang pembentung di depan Wisma Yakin, di Jalan Masjid India.

Mesin itu digunakan untuk memecahkan sisa batu kira-kira 4 meter di pembentung itu bagi membolehkan pasukan SAR melihat ada atau tidak objek asing tersekat di sisa batu berkenaan.

Ketua Polis Daerah Dang Wangi Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman berkata kamera digunakan pasukan SAR mengesan sisa batu dipercayai akibat tanah jerlus pada kedudukan selepas lurang itu.

“Sisa batu itu perlu dialihkan supaya pasukan SAR boleh periksa kemungkinan ada objek asing, termasuk kemungkinan mangsa terperangkap di situ.

“Setakat ini kita sudah menggunakan kaedah jetting sebanyak empat kali, dan akan teruskan hingga sisa batu itu berjaya dipecahkan sepenuhnya,” katanya malam tadi.

Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) turut melakukan kaedah flushing di semua pembentung sepanjang jajaran pembentung itu dan memantau loji rawatannya di Pantai Dalam, tetapi belum menemui petunjuk baharu.

Sementara itu, empat ahli keluarga mangsa dibenarkan melanjutkan visa oleh Jabatan Imigresen semalam. – 27 Ogos, 2024.
