Shafee Abdullah arrested

LAWYER Muhammad Shafee Abdullah has been arrested and will be charged today in a Kuala Lumpur court, with offences related to a RM9.5 million payment he received from former prime minister Najib Razak. 

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) deputy chief commissioner Azam Baki confirmed Shafee was arrested and would be charged this morning. He declined to elaborate.

  • Which legal firm would collect his RM9.5 million fees after 10 years? Why from Najib's personal account instead of the formal channels? Was payment made on the back of detailed supporting documents? Why was this not revealed earlier when Sarawak Report reported it but instead brushed aside as "nonsense"?
