Police looking for highway sex story reporter

PENANG police are looking for a reporter from news portal Penang Post, who recently posted an article about a couple having sex by the highway.

State police chief Chuah Ghee Lye said Seberang Prai Selatan police believed the scene of the incident, as shown in the article, was not in Penang.

He said police also found that the registered owner of the website had an address in Azerbaijan, while the internet server was in Pennsylvania, US.

Chuah said the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) had told the police that fake information might have been used to register the service.

“The person who did this could be in Malaysia. We have to trace the reporter first, because he or she claimed to have been to Jelutong to interview the couple. We also don’t know where the address is.

“We are keeping an open mind and checking. If the story is true, the couple can be charged for indecency. If the story is false, we will ask the MCMC to take action against the portal,” he told reporters today.

Chuah also said the website could not be accessed at 6.20pm yesterday but was up and running this afternoon.

In the July 16 report, Penang Post uploaded a story and a picture of a couple having sex by an elevated highway. The woman was completely naked while the man had his shorts down.

The reporter wrote that the incident happened near Changkat Kledang in Jawi, Nibong Tebal; and the couple later went to Jelutong, where the reporter claimed to have interviewed them.

The couple was quoted as saying that they had felt “incredibly horny” while driving before stopping for their tryst. They also reportedly apologised.

The story even quoted a local traffic “expert” condemning the couple, because “driving was already dangerous enough without such distractions”. – July 18, 2017.
