FORMER myPPP president M. Kayveas will be taking legal measures against allegations of power abuse over property purchases in Malaysia, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

Messages began circulating on WhatsApp last week, which contained hundreds of documents on alleged transactions, the earliest dating back to 2011.

MyPPP youth secretary Jayaselan Rajoo lodged two reports at the Sentul police station on Saturday, urging an investigation into Kayveas’ alleged abuse of power as how a party president raised money to fund dozens of purchases worth RM28 million.

Responding to the allegations spread on social media, Kayveas said today: “I have protested in the recent past but it’s time to punish those who are bent on corrupt, destructive, vindictive and gutter gangsterism.”

In the same statement distributed by former myPPP secretary-general Roger Ly, Kayveas is said to be taking “legal and lawful measures” to ensure “justice prevails.”

“Even personal details and data have been made viral on social media. The laws will be used to go after such evil plotters and trouble makers,” Ly said.

He said ever since Kayveas announced that he may take his party out of Barisan Nasional on April 17, “things have been going ballistic against the president (Kayveas).”

“Despite the legitimate supreme council clearance from RoS (Registrar of Societies) and the official document confirming M. Kayveas as the president, several party officials continue to practice vindictive, gutter politics.”

Kayveas previously told The Malaysian Insight that he has lodged police reports of his own on the matter.

“I have made 15 police reports and was told next week, action will be taken against the perpetrators,”  Kayveas said over the weekend.

MyPPP, a Barisan Nasional component party, was plunged into internal conflict after Kayveas spoke out against the coalition when he was not given the Cameron Highlands seat to contest in the 14th general election.

Following this, the party sacked Kayveas in April as the president.

Kayveas, however, later claimed that his sacking ran contrary to myPPP’s constitution, which stated that the president can only be replaced by holding a general assembly or extraordinary general assembly. – July 16, 2018.
