MACC raids Jho Low's apartment

THE Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission raided billionaire financier Low Taek Jho’s apartment in Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

The search warrant, which gave MACC the authority to raid the apartment and arrest anyone in the premises for purpose of investigation, was sighted by The Malaysian Insight.

The raid at a high-end apartment unit on Jalan Kia Peng, Kuala Lumpur, was linked to the ongoing investigations into the 1Malaysia Development Bhd scandal.

Photographs obtained by The Malaysian Insight showed more than 10 MACC officers were involved in the raid.

A warrant of arrest has been issued on Low, popularly known as Jho Low, to assist in the 1MDB probe.

It was reported that the the billionaire’s lawyers had contacted MACC officials but to date, no further developments were reported. – June 28, 2018.
