“I see that support for and the fighting spirit of the Umno leadership remain strong and endless… the Pekan Umno Youth delegates’ conference also saw a hall full of attendees,” he said today.

“We are committed to proving that Umno is still relevant.

“What needs to be done now is to be rid of arrogance, money politics and everything that is negative. We must win back the hearts of the youth.

“I urge Umno leaders and members to close ranks. We are fighting for a party that champions Islam.”

More than 500 Youth delegates attended the conference, where they voted on the wing’s new leadership.

Shahruddin said support for Umno in Pekan remains strong and undivided, adding that this is especially so for MP Najib.

“The 14th general election loss is not due to Najib. We believe he is a clean leader, who is beloved by the people to this day.” – Bernama, June 23, 2018.
