Myanmar president steps down

MYANMAR’S president and Aung San Suu Kyi’s right-hand man, U Htin Kyaw, stepped down today after two years in the position, said his office.

“Myanmar President U Htin Kyaw has resigned on March 21, 2018,” said a statement on the president’s official Facebook page.

It said a new leader will be selected “within seven working days”. – AFP, March 21, 2018.
