Malaysian Armed Forces vows stern action against navy cadet officer's killers


The Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) has pledged to take stern action against the persons who caused the death of a cadet officer at the National Defence University of Malaysia (NDU).

MAF said it would conduct a thorough investigation and asked the public not to speculate.

“MAF views this incident very seriously and will conduct an internal probe to see what caused the incident. We will not compromise with those involved and will take stern action against them,” said MAFin a statement today.

Zulfarhan Osman Zulkarnain, 21, was found with burn marks and bruises in an apartment in Sepang yesterday night.

The final year student was reported to be still alive when his friends called an ambulance to rush him to Hospital Serdang, but died there at 10pm.

Zulfarhan’s body will be sent back to Johor Baru for burial tonight. 

Police have since detained 36 students in connection with the case that has been classified as murder.

The students are remanded for seven days, beginning today. – June 2, 2017.
