THE Federal Court today dismissed Rosmah Mansor’s bid to dismiss her corruption trial, with a July 7 verdict looming over her alleged attempts to solicit bribes for a solar hybrid energy project for schools in Sarawak.

This unanimous apex court decision means the verdict will be read out at Kuala Lumpur High Court on July 7 as scheduled, according to media reports.

The wife of former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak had applied to nullify her case in December.

Rosmah’s appeal was heard by Mohd Zawawi Salleh, Vernon Ong and Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah.

She is facing charges of soliciting RM188 million in bribes and receiving RM6.5 million from Jepak Holdings Sdn Bhd managing director Saidi Abang Samsuddin in exchange for her help to secure a RM1.25 billion contract to supply electricity to more than 300 rural schools in Sarawak. – May 27, 2022.
