More than 1.13 million kids aged 5-11 fully vaccinated

MORE than 1.13 million children aged five to 11 in the country, or almost 32% of this group, have been fully vaccinated under the Covid-19 National Immunisation Programme for Children as of yesterday.

According to the CovidNow website, more than 1.68 million children, or 47% of the group, have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

The deadline for children to get their first dose of vaccine under the programme is May 31.

For adolescents aged 12-17, more than 2.91 million of them, or 93% of this group, are fully vaccinated while more than three million, or 96%, have received at least one dose of vaccine.

Meanwhile, more than 16 million adults, or 68% of this group, have received a booster dose while more than 22.9 million, or 97%, have completed two doses and more than 23.2 million, or almost 99%, have received at least one dose of a vaccine.

A total of 9,883 vaccine doses were administered yesterday – 3,809 as first dose, 3,945 as second dose and 2,129 as booster, bringing cumulative number of vaccine dose administered through the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to more than 70.8 million. – Bernama, May 25, 2022.
