MOH reports 1,503 new Covid-19 infections, lowest since April 2021

MALAYSIA reported 1,503 new Covid-19 infections yesterday, the lowest in more than one year.

The last time less Malaysia logged fewer than 2,000 cases was on April 13, 2021, with 1,767 cases.

The Health Ministry’s CovidNow website showed that there were three deaths, of which one was declared dead on arrival at hospital.

There are currently 41,167 active cases, while 35,550 have died of the virus.

Selangor logged the highest number of infections with 643 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur (199), Malacca (120), Penang (97), Perak (96), Johor (86), Kedah (62), Negri Sembilan (54), Sarawak (51), Terengganu (20), Pahang (19), Sabah (14), Putrajaya (11), Kelantan (9), and Perlis and Labuan (1 each).

The GitHub database showed that two deaths were reported in Selangor while one was reported in Perak.

Currently, 1,074 people are hospitalised with Covid-19, of which 69 are in ICU and 45 are on a ventilator. – May 2, 2022.
