POLICE will release the names and photos of the remaining 61 Rohingya detainees who fled the Sungai Bakap Immigration depot in Bandar Baharu, Kedah, on April 20.

Kedah police chief Wan Hassan Wan Ahmad said police are preparing the names and photos to be distributed through mass media soon.

“They can change their names, but we have their photos and will know that they are the wanted detainees if arrested in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor or other states,” he told reporters today.

In the early morning incident on April 20, 528 detainees rioted before fleeing from the depot. Six were killed after being hit by vehicles while attempting to cross the North-South Expressway at Km168. – Bernama, April 29, 2022.
