Food rider fined RM4,000 for outraging woman’s modesty


A FOOD rider has been fined RM4,000 in default of three months’ jail by the Magistrates’ Court in George Town, Penang, today after pleading guilty to a charge of outraging a woman’s modesty.

Muhammad Falihin Abdul Talib, 28, made the plea before magistrate Nur Melati Diana Abdul Wahab.

He is charged with using criminal force with intent to outrage the modesty of an Indonesian woman at 12.30pm at Jalan Bukit Gambir, Gelugor, on April 20.

The charge under section 354 of the penal code provides a jail term of up to 10 years or fine or whipping, or any two of the punishments, upon conviction.

Falihin, represented by lawyer S. Bommy, said he earned only RM2,000 a month and has a wife, who is currently five-months pregnant, and a 1-year-old child to support. – Bernama, April 27, 2022.
