A MAN died from severe injuries after he crashed into a 40-foot tree while paragliding in Bukit Batu Pahat, Kuala Kubu Baru, Selangor, this evening.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said Mohammad Farhad Khalid, 44, from Subang Jaya, suffered severe bleeding and had a fractured leg following the accident.

“The department received a distress call at 4.56pm and despatched firefighters to the scene. The team arrived within six minutes.”

He said several Orang Asli at the scene climbed up the tree and secured the victim with the paraglider’s lines to ensure he did not fall.

The firefighters took two hours to lower the victim down from the tree, he added.

The victim was pronounced dead by the medical team en route to Kuala Kubu Baru Hospital. – Bernama, April 23, 2022.
