805,676 kids in Malaysia get first Covid vaccine dose

A TOTAL of 805,676 children aged between five and 11, or 22.7% of the group in the country, have received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine as of yesterday, under the national vaccination drive for children.

Based on the CovidNow website, a total of 14.5 million or 61.7% of the adult population in the country have received the booster dose and a total of 22.9 million or 97.5% have completed the vaccination, while 23.2 million or 98.7% have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

As for adolescents aged 12 to 17, a total of 2.8 million individuals or 90% have completed their vaccination while 2.9 million individuals or 93% have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

Yesterday, a total of 118,275 vaccine doses were dispensed, with 54,858 as first doses, 577 second doses and 62,840 booster doses.

The cumulative total of vaccine doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme nears 67 million. – Bernama, February 27, 2022.
