A MAN slashed his former father-in-law with a parang when pressed to settle a compensation at a food outlet in Pandan Jaya, Ampang, yesterday.

The 51-year-old victim suffered injuries on the back of the head, left cheek and left arm in the 11am incident.

Ampang Jaya police chief Mohamad Farouk Eshak said prior to the incident, the 25-year-old suspect met his former father-in-law concerning a compensation.

“However, as the victim insisted the suspect settle the compensation, the latter slashed the former several times. The victim has been admitted to Ampang Hospital and is in stable condition.”

Farouk said the case is being investigated under section 326 of the penal code for causing grievous hurt, adding that police are tracking down the unemployed suspect. – Bernama, January 16, 2022.
