PAS will only contest one seat, Beting Maro, in the 12th Sarawak elections, deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said.

The party’s sole candidate is Sarawak PAS secretary Mohammad Arifiriazul Paijo, 37.

“The decision to field only one candidate in the state polls was made based on several factors including Covid-19.

“PAS also would like to maintain the relations at federal level with the multi-party government, including Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS),” Tuan Ibrahim told a press conference after presenting the appointment letter to its candidate in Kuching today.

Arifiriazul ran for the Lambir seat, one of the 11 seats the party contested in the 11th Sarawak elections. – Bernama, December 4, 2021.
