THE Road Transport Department (RTD) and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC)will investigate allegations of a social media influencer named Azrul Affandi Sobry that RTD officers had been selling driving licences.

The RTD said it was taking the matter seriously and would be interviewing Azrul as part of the investigation.

“RTD would like to stress that it will not compromise on any form of misconduct involving RTD officers, if Azrul’s allegations prove to be true,” it said in a statement today.

RTD said to date, a series of MACC investigations had been conducted over the past few years.

Through a post on social media, Azrul alleged that there were RTD officers who were directly involved in selling driving licences illegally by accepting bribes from candidates who did not pass their driving test. – Bernama, December 4, 2021.
