Leaders agree to amend state laws to enable 18-year-olds to stand for election

ALL menteri besar and chief ministers have agreed to amend their state constitutions to allow individuals aged 18 to become candidates in the general election, state election and by-election.

Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the matter was decided at the 137th Menteri Besar and Chief Ministers’ Meeting yesterday.
