Singapore peddling half-truths to justify executing Nagaenthran, says group

THE Singapore government is peddling half-truths to justify executing Malaysian Nagaenthran K. Dharmalingam for a drug offence despite his mental disability, said Lawyers for Liberty (LFL).

The legal rights group took issue with a statement by the Singapore Ministry of Home Affairs yesterday, which said LFL said had ignored other facts, and focused on the court findings that Nagaenthran’s mental responsibility for his crime was not impaired.
