Groups want Sarawak polls to be held next year so youth can vote

BETWEEN 125,000 and 135,000 Sarawak youth will be denied their right to vote if the state elections are held this year, following the lifting of the state of emergency, the Undi18 and Undi Sarawak movements said.

“With today’s announcement by Istana Negara on the revocation of Sarawak’s state of emergency by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, this paves the way for the state elections after the dissolution of the state assembly.
