Shafee’s money laundering trial deferred to October 26

THE trial of lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah, who is charged with money laundering and making false statements to the Inland Revenue Board, has been postponed to October 26 as lead counsel Harvinderjit Singh had a funeral to attend.

At today’s proceedings, Shafee’s lawyer Sarah Abishegam told the Kuala Lumpur High Court that Harvinderjit had to attend the funeral of his mentor before he was called to the Bar.
