6.4 million premises provided with access to fibre optic network

A TOTAL of 6.43 million premises nationwide have been provided with access to fibre optic network under Phase 1 of the National Digital Network Plan (Jendela) as of August 31, the Dewan Negara was told today.

Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Zahidi Zainul Abidin said under the plan, which started in September last year, the mobile broadband speed has also been increased from 25 Mbps to 31.34 Mbps.
