House to hear questions on minimum wage, youth employment

SIXTEEN ministers are expected to wind-up debate on the motion of thanks for the royal address in Parliament today.

According to the Order Paper, the ministers of defence, home affairs, finance, education, works and communications and multimedia will take part in the winding-up.

During the question and answer session, the issues to be raised are the minimum wage review, halal certification, and youth employment during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Nurul Izzah Anwar (Permatang Pauh-PH) will ask the human resources minister about government efforts pertaining to the review of the minimum wage.

Ahmad Maslan (Pontian-BN) will pose a question to the domestic trade and consumer affairs minister about the cases of imported and local halal products that did not meet the standards of certification, and what the ministry was doing to address the problem.

The Dewan Rakyat will sit for 17 days until October 12. – Bernama, September 22, 2021.
