FORT Cornwallis, one of the first landmarks in Penang listed in the Unesco World Heritage Site in July 2008, is expected to have its moat fully restored by the end of 2024.

State housing, local government and town and country planning committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo said the state government recently approved the budget to implement the moat reinstatement project for the 18th century bastion fort in George Town.
