100 farmers’ markets open in states under Phase 2

SOME 100 of the 312 farmers’ markets (pasar tani) have opened in states under Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan, involving about 4,000 traders, Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (FAMA) board member, Ghazale Muhamad said.

He said the opening of the markets was for those selling seven permitted commodities, namely fruits, vegetables, seafood, meat, processed chicken, groceries, and small- and medium-sized industry products as well as packaged food and beverages.
